First step of “Makiji”

We finished the first step of “Makiji” it means putting rough powder on the wood, the powder is called “jinoko” it is composed by diatom earth that is crushed and burnt.

１回目の蒔地が終わりました。
蒔地とは表面に地の粉という粉を塗り、表面を丈夫にするための作業です。
ちなみに地の粉は珪藻土を焼いて、粉にしたものです。
